There is tremendous consequence to forgetting God. While it may not come cascading down instantly, we can be assured there is always a price to pay. Like when the amateur mechanic, who leaves out parts he deems unnecessary, everything may eventually grind to a halt–an obvious consequence. Likewise there are many unintended outcomes when a nation abandons faith in God.Continue Reading
The Secret of Christianity shows it is not a Religion!
The Secret of Christianity is that it is not a religion. At least it is not in terms of we think of as religion. It is a spiritual system governed by a Supreme Being! If it resembles a religion to us, that is only because imperfect men have tried to express what is inconceivable. For this I apologize. The Secret of Christianity is that it is not defined by the morals associated with it. Rather, it creates them within us! It organically supplies what is routinely demanded by religion.Continue Reading
Is there cultic vain repetition in Church worship? Jesus warned us against it. There certainly seems to be a lot of repetition in today’s music, is this what Jesus meant? If there is ‘vain repetition’ we will never know it unless we define it. So the first question to answer is ‘what is it?’.
Refusing to quit the race when running with horses!
Refusing to quit prepares you for the real battle. It means readying to run with horses even if you are wearied by the footmen. However, if we are unable, God may restrict us to the footmen, even if just for a while. But I don’t want to run with the footmen when my destiny is ‘Running with Horses!Continue Reading
Richard Dawkins defends Pedophilia!
Richard Dawkins has gotten himself into some hot water by appearing to defend ‘soft’ or ‘mild’ pedophilia. He did this not by encouraging assault but by minimizing the effect on his own person. That is, he dismissed as insignificant, a sexual assault by a man who should have been a father figure and a protector to him. While he may be sincere, he demonstrates his ignorance in both the effect of sexual assault on children as well as on himself.
Like wine we are prepared to be enjoyed in our season. What kind are you?
All wines are not the same. Not only do the vintages differ with reference to blends, years and varieties, but also in terms of their respective timelines. That is, some are made to age while others are prepared for early consumption. Like planets orbiting the sun each comes around at its appointed time. It is the same with men and ministries, we are uniquely made to function differently, and may be released in very different seasons. Since God is the vinedresser we need to simply trust the journey and refrain from fruitless comparisons.Continue Reading
Perhaps it is time to be progressive and redefine sin?
It seems some believe our definition of sin needs changing. The suggestion is that it is archaic and outdated and needs to be brought into the 21st Century. I could not agree more… I vote to redefine sin! But it may not be the way you think.Continue Reading
The Real Problem of ‘Long Church’!
If you read the Bible you wont ever hear Jesus scolding the disciples for praying too much. On the other hand they did on occasion lack endurance. Their ability to keep up with Jesus was in question, particularly when it came to His spiritual pace. Could it be that is our problem when we think church is too long?
Christians need to understand God’s Strategy for Evil!
Do not be discouraged at the rise of evil–God has a strategy! He is neither distressed nor anxious because, for Him, evil is not a threat. Though veiled in layers of illusion (with tremendous deceptive power), it cannot forever conceal its true nature. It will be seen for what it is and the recent women’s march in Washington DC foreshadows as much.Continue Reading
Stop Telling Me I’m Beautiful!
A recent article I read underscores a critical issue for anyone concerned with the Gospel. It hits a tone highlighting a need for each of us to reorient around Jesus and away from the ‘goodness of man’. In summary we could simply remind ourselves it is the ‘goodness of God’ which leads us to repentance and not the ‘goodness of man’.Continue Reading
