Christians need to understand God’s Strategy for Evil!
Do not be discouraged at the rise of evil–God has a strategy! He is neither distressed nor anxious because, for Him, evil is not a threat. Though veiled in layers of illusion (with tremendous deceptive power), it cannot forever conceal its true nature. It will be seen for what it is and the recent women’s march in Washington DC foreshadows as much.
The ‘Planned Parenthood’ march, parading as a women’s freedom event, offered many revolting moments. One particularly vile photo displayed by two women suggested Jesus ought to have been aborted(though some suggested it referred to Donald’s mother Mary). Regardless, the face of evil is surfacing and this time under the guise of outrage over injustice. Their motto, ‘Love Trumps Hate’ echoed with empty rhetoric as hatred spilled everywhere! Any talk of inclusion or celebration of diversity was followed by abuse and exile (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/01/17/womens-march-ousts-pro-life-feminists/). Yet, we ought not to be disheartened by this extreme manifestation of contempt, as it is part of God’s plan.
Holy Spirit Wisdom
It was not clear to me at first. Deeply grieved, I questioned, ‘how do we deal with this kind of evil?’ My focus was on thwarting it until the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, “What makes you think I want to extinguish it?” Scripture immediately came to mind and I instantly saw the strategy of God. God wanted ‘Evil’ to mature alongside ‘Good’.
The illuminate passages were the parable of the Wheat and the Tares. The parable explained that while a man slept an enemy sowed tares in his field. As the crop grew, the tares appeared and it was suggested they be uprooted. However, the owner said ‘let both grow together’; later the tares would be burned (Matthew 13:25). For now, God wants them to ‘grow together’.
The Kingdom Principle
Here is the principle. Everything begins as a seed of motive and is either from above or below. Then, despite how it appears, only in maturity is it fully revealed! As such a seed can conceal its actual nature. In fact in the parable the tares were undetectable until they began to grow. Similarly evil pretends to be what it is not, even parading as ‘good’ until it finally begins to produce a harvest. At the harvest, towards the end of the cycle, its essential nature becomes completely clear.
Herein is the wisdom of God towards the blind and the foolish. Though you have refused truth you will see the end of your ways that they are death. In harvest you will know ‘Love’. Though all along the voice of wisdom cries in the street, neither heeded nor understood, she will be known.
God, by allowing the wheat and the tares to grow together, demonstrates to all creation the maturation of good and evil. In the end the truth will be too clear to deny. All of creation will see evil, vile and naked as it is. Mankind will lament that they could be so deceived. Then, as the shroud of every false thing is removed, it will be abundantly clear that He ALONE is Good! He will stand distinct in His Righteousness!
