A Generation to Marry His desire for Victory
A key characteristic of God’s end-time army is unrelenting zeal. It will be a people whose idea of victory is equal to God’s – they will be married to His desire. Their definition of victory will not differ from God’s. This means no half measures and no partial successes for them! God is looking for a people who will embrace the entirety of His vision and not just the part which is convenient. All that remains is a people willing to rise to the occasion. See now they come!
Whether such a people will exist is a question already answered. The readiness of a generation has been prophesied and is assured. They are called the generation of Jacob… they will be volunteers in the day of His power.
“Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;” – Psalm 110:3
Their desperate cry is for Him and so they seek His face.
“This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face.” – Psalm 24:6
Who are these people who will do His will? Will we be among them? This is the unanswered question.
In God’s Kingdom, most things are available to ‘him who has ears to hear’. Which is to say, ‘many are called but few are chosen’. Even so, we are approaching a season of peculiar convergence where there is both a grace beginning to rise and a readiness in the heart of a generation. We are approaching a season of peculiar convergence where there is both a grace beginning to rise and a readiness in the heart of a generation. Presuming readiness might be a mistake without careful preparation. We are best prepared by being students of God’s word and attentive to come under its admonitions. In this case we ought to consider the history of the Israel. For though they longed to escape slavery from Egypt, they were not prepared to embrace God’s entire plan. This was a mistake we do not want to make.
First they refused God repeatedly. Then they went a step further in that their unwillingness to enter the Promise Land, put God’s agenda in jeopardy. They mistook their role so that as much as God’s love included them, the scope of what He was doing was much larger than they understood. Like them we are beneficiaries. God includes us not just so we are in, but so we can participate in His plan. Unfortunately, they could not see past themselves.God includes us not just so we are in, but so we can participate in His plan. Click To Tweet
His inclination was to destroy them, only to relent after Moses’ intercession. But not before explicitly outlining His goal. Here it is:
“Then the Lord said: ‘I have pardoned, according to your word; but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.'” – Numbers 14:20.
The point cannot be clearer, “all the earth shall be filled”. His plan must include the whole earth. Victory for God is not defined by anything less than global revival.Victory for God is not defined by anything less than global revival. Click To Tweet
Today as God looks for partners in His work, He is looking for a particular type of man and woman. It is those who will align with His complete vision. He did not deliver the Hebrew nation only to save them, but the whole world. He will not stop at Egypt or Canaan, or the Middle East. The whole earth will know His glory. Likewise, He did not just mean to save us, but a people from every tribe and every nation. This is the vision and nothing less will do.
The Victory Plan
What then is God looking for? He seeks a people whose goals agree with His and nothing less. Even now His eyes search the face of the earth for those whose hearts are fully His. And this generation, the generation of Jacob, will come into full agreement. They will marry God’s desire such that His will, will be their will. Behold they come!
