Spiritual breakthroughs are not the product of random chance but deliberate preparation. When we get it this truth will change the way we approach faith. Leave the world of chance!
I see Esther moments!
Like in the day of Esther we are approaching moments of amazing victory. If we believe, we can participate in their unfolding before they come. One such moment is coming for us, we call them Esther Moments. These are times of convergence in the midst of conflict where we see darkness set back by radical exposure of events. These are watershed events when the tide of evil is set back and humiliated.Continue Reading
Love is the source of trust and respect
One of the most important characteristics of love is the ability to believe others as better than ourselves (Phi 2:3). If we can do this, we may find it is most significant element to creating new and lasting relationships. But what does that mean? How can we consider another better if we clearly have superior skills or character? Is the Bible suggesting dishonesty? No, it is a call to an open heart and a willingness to suspend suspicion. We must start by giving others the courtesy of a clean slate.Continue Reading
There is tremendous consequence to forgetting God. While it may not come cascading down instantly, we can be assured there is always a price to pay. Like when the amateur mechanic, who leaves out parts he deems unnecessary, everything may eventually grind to a halt–an obvious consequence. Likewise there are many unintended outcomes when a nation abandons faith in God.Continue Reading
Did you know God is the Author of Pain?
God is the author of pain though not necessarily the author of injury. Like the smoke alarm in your home, designed to awaken you with a measure of sonic violence, pain is our friend. It alerts us to peril. In this sense it serves the same purpose as God’s judgments. This is one of the reasons the scripture declares God’s judgments as righteous. They are crafted to awaken us to danger and exist, among other things, for our preservation. As such they are an expression of love!Continue Reading
Murder-Suicide – Two boys killed in Spruce Grove
Mother and stepfather called 911 when they arrived to take children home for the holidays
This last weeks murder-suicide has shined a spotlight once again on the darker side of human nature. It is altogether tragic, whether it be the result of mental illness, depression or sheer hatred. The scenario becomes even more vexing given the loss of two precious boys. The added fact there is no recourse for justice can be tormenting. Yet, the anger can be assuaged with the realization no one escapes justice. No one!Continue Reading
TV’s ‘Travelers’ points to a common thread woven through much of modern Science Fiction
It’s been said ‘Today’s Science Fiction is tomorrow’s reality’. Even though not all are believers, Science Fiction points the direction that faith is going. If that is true then the new TV Series ‘Travelers’ opens an entirely new world of possibilities (see – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5651844/). It features men and women from the future, translated into our time and inserted into the bodies of present day people. All of this with a mission to save the world. It vaguely resembles the story of God sending His only Son in bodily form to save the world.Continue Reading
A Key Shift Took Place Between Covenants
Among the misunderstandings adding complexity to Prophetic Ministry is the lack of understanding of the difference between Old and New Testament faith. A quantum shift in our relationship capacity came with Jesus. When the temple curtain was torn it signalled a new day. How monumental was this? Now we have become the Temple of God.
…And there are too many soup cooks in the Kitchen!
Ministries are to the Kingdom of God what ingredients are to soup. Each ministry provides a measure of flavour or substance toward the goal of a satisfying mix. Whether we are meant to provide the central features of meat and potatoes or the more subtle influences of seasonings and spices, all are vital. One critical fact we must always keep in mind is that we are not the cooks. The Master Chef oversees the soup with his own vision of how it should taste. Likewise it is God who governs His Church with His own vision of how it will look.
Breaking Superstition will free you from Subversive Power
Superstition is everywhere. In fact it might even be in your life! It is one of those sinister forces affecting everyday aspects of our lives without our knowledge.
